Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 14, at 1 p.m. March Field Air Museum will present a one hour briefing by Major Paul Trainor, USAF (Ret), on missiles. Mr. Trainor will present an introductory lesson on the various types of missiles and their missions. As an ROTC graduate in 1970 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Trainor entered the Air Force as Deputy Missile Combat Crew Commander for Titan II missiles based at McConnell AFB, Kansas. This began a 20-year career with Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM’s) with jobs as a Minuteman III Technical Engineer, Deployment Engineer, Site Alteration Task Force (SATAF) Engineer, and a Peacekeeper Guidance System Production project officer. “The museum is privileged to have former Launch Control Officer Paul Trainor provide us with an inside glimpse into the secretive world of nuclear missiles,“ says museum curator Jeff Houlihan. Regular museum admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 5 to 12. March Field Air Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday. The museum is located at 22550 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside CA 92518. For more information about March Field Air Museum please contact Annie Lunetta at 951/902-5949, annie @marchfield.org or visit the website at www.marchfield.org.
