Characters from fairy tales, books and movies made appearances at Moreno Valley Unified School District Elementary schools Wednesday as part of our yearly tradition to kick off the new school year with an energetic welcome. The characters were a big hit!

District officials and community volunteers suited up to greet students on the first day of the 2017-18 school year. Members of the MVUSD School Board also visited schools and gave pencils to the students.

Some of the characters that were spotted at MVUSD schools included, Cat in the Hat, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Mary Poppins and Super Mario. Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora, also known as Captain America, was spotted giving encouraging words to students arriving at various schools as well.
