Unforgettables Welcomes New Board Chair

ALL> The Unforgettables Foundation welcomed in a new Board Chair, Mitchell "Mitch" Morales a month ago as the 15th board chair in the history of the cause. Morales, a professional mortuary executive, who works at Desert View Mortuary in Victorville and Mead in Barstow, lives with his wife Kelly in the High Desert near Phelan. He was at the first meeting that The Unforgettables had in 1999 and is on his second term as a board member, while also being a founding member with foundation founder/CEO Tim Evans on the Southern Nevada chapter. Morales has big shoes to fill in following immediate past chair, Devonne Rowlen. Rowlen and Morales are both are employees of Dignity Memorial, the funeral home company. She has presided over the strongest fundraising year in recent history for The Unforgettables Foundation - almost $400,000. She and her staff from Draper Mortuary in Ontario has volunteered for many events. She and her husband live in Riverside. Joining Morales as a newly installed officer of the executive committee is Margie Miller from Grand Terrace. She is the new Chair-elect. Miller is an attorney, realtor and the publisher of the City News Group which serves six local cities with newspaper coverage. She also serves on the board of The Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House, a friendly sister charity collaborator. Other Executive Committee leaders with the Redlands based charity that serves San Bernardino and Riverside county at-risk families struggling with costs of a child's funeral are Treasure Christine Beamer, owner of Beamer Tax and Business Services in Yucaipa and retired former San Bernardino County Medical Society CEO, Linda Stratton of Redlands along with Paul Cramer of Star Milling Company in Perris and Suzie Aceves, a development and real estate executive in Rancho Cucamonga comprise the remainder of the Executive Committee with Evans. The Unforgettables Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Evans in 1999. During a decade of clinical ministry to children and their families, Evans assisted families with the many crises surrounding the death of a child-not the least of which are the crushing financial burdens experienced by families with limited resources. Assisted by Inland Empire educators, medical professionals, social workers and morticians, Evans created The Unforgettables Foundation. Paramount among aspects of the Foundation’s mission is to assist low-income families provide a dignified, appropriate burial for their children who have died.
