Now through Aug. 31, residents can cast a vote that will help get the Animal Shelter closer to $100,000. The 2013 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge has launched a Facebook vote campaign to decide which participating Animal Shelter wins the Community Engagement Award portion—$25,000 of the $100,000 prize. Moreno Valley Animal Shelter supporters can vote once each day per between 8 a.m. and 7:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) through Aug. 31. Those aged 13 and older with a valid Facebook account can vote. This Facebook voting app is supported on computers only. The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter was selected to join 49 other animal shelters nationwide to participate in the 2013 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge competing to save more animals’ lives from June 1 through Aug. 31. The $100K Challenge is a contest in which 50 shelters across the country will compete to break their own records at saving animals’ lives. Throughout the months of June, July and August, each competing shelter must save more dogs, cats, puppies and kittens than they did during the same three months in 2012. This year, a select number of winners out of 50 shelters will earn $600,000 in prize grants, including a $100,000 grand prize for the shelter that increased lives saved the most. Grant funds awarded to the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter will be used to promote pet adoptions and provide additional spay and neuter services in the community.
