The Moreno Valley Arts Commission is seeking applications from performers and artists to participate in the city's 7th annual ArtoberFest. This free family-oriented cultural event is scheduled for Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Conference and Recreation Center located at 14075 Frederick Street in Moreno Valley. ArtoberFest has grown annually since the inaugural event in 2008. Last year, the event drew more than 1,300 people who were entertained by more than 300 performers. There were also nearly 30 artists and crafters showcasing their talents in booth spaces located both indoors and outdoors. There are great opportunities for local artists to showcase their talent at this well-attended event: Exhibit: Booth spaces are available for $25 before Sept. 1, and $35 after Sept. 1. A city business license and application to exhibit is required for artists that plan to sell CDs, artwork, jewelry, crafts, etc. Perform: Simply submit applicable application(s) to perform. All applications must be received by Wednesday, Oct. 1. Superb entertainment includes painting demonstrations, poetry readings, and outstanding performances from singers, dancers, and varied musicians. Additionally, there will be plenty of great food and beverages available to purchase. Families, friends, and the community at large are invited to attend this wonderful day of celebration. Artists and performers may obtain more information and applications from the cityʼs website at www.moval.org, or by calling Arts Commissioner Johnson at (951) 442-8698 or Arts Commissioner Archer at (951)697-9022.
