Metrolink, Southern California’s six-county regional passenger rail provider, is partnering with AAA Auto Club of Southern California to create more transportation options for members. Beginning today, anyone with a current Auto Club of Southern California membership will be eligible for a 20% discount on round-trip Metrolink tickets, making taking the train an even more affordable alternative to driving.

“We’re proud to partner with AAA Auto Club of Southern California and offer their members a discount on Metrolink trains,” Metrolink Board Chair and City of Highland Mayor Pro Tem Larry McCallon said. “Riding Metrolink is one of the most sustainable ways to get around and takes traffic out of the equation. We’re excited for many Southern Californian car owners to discover the ease and convenience of leaving their vehicles at home and climbing aboard one of our trains.”

Metrolink operates more than 545 route miles across seven service lines connecting Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties. Six of the seven lines meet at historic Los Angeles Union Station, while the seventh links the region’s Inland Empire directly with coastal destinations in Orange and San Diego counties.

Whether traveling for work or pleasure, passengers can easily navigate Southern California using Metrolink. The system directly serves many marquee destinations, including some of the region’s most popular beaches, numerous colleges and universities, and regional airports. Free transfers are also available for most local public transit providers to simplify first- and last-mile connections.

"Given that 85 percent of Metrolink's weekday riders are automobile owners, the Auto Club is thrilled to support a service that not only enhances convenience but also strengthens our community's connectivity,” Jon Carlew, Auto Club of Southern California head of digital product and partnership programs said.

For each trip, AAA members must log into their account to request a promotional discount code, which can be redeemed at any Metrolink ticket machine or at a Metrolink Union Station ticket window. This offer is not currently available on Metrolink’s mobile app. Learn more at metrolinktrains.com/aaa. Metrolink also offers everyday discounts for seniors, students, active duty military and uniformed law enforcement personnel.

AAA members are encouraged to visit metrolinktrains.com/schedules to plan their trip using Metrolink’s online interactive scheduling tool. A curated list of activities and destinations easily accessible by Metrolink can be found at metrolinktrains.com/explore
