MORENO VALLEY >> A grand opening and ribbon cutting event was held last week for a popular Filipino/Asian market that has new owners. Manila Ranch Market is now owned and operated by a family who has lived in Moreno Valley for 24 years. Virgil and Cecille De Guzman are thrilled about their new adventure as business owners. Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez participated in the grand opening event by presenting a Mayoral Proclamation and by cutting the ceremonial ribbon signifying the official reopening of this growing market. "Small business is the backbone of all communities. As Mayor, I am proud to support the success of entrepreneurs and encourage all small businesses to take advantage of the resources the City has to offer," said Mayor Gutierrez. Originally opened in 1996, Manila Ranch Market was the first Filipino and Asian specialty store in Moreno Valley. The market offers specialty food items including produce and baking products, and a fish market whereby any fish purchased is fried at no extra cost. A restaurant component was added that utilizes culinary practices true to the Filipino heritage as the pairings of sweet, sour, and salty flavors create distinctly, traditional Filipino flavors. Manila Ranch Market is located at 13373 Perris Boulevard and is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
