Even temperatures above 100 degrees couldn’t wilt the enthusiasm of the final members of the Moreno Valley Unified School District Class of 2014, who donned caps and gowns today to claim their diplomas.
Representing all of the district’s high schools, the summer graduates found themselves in the springtime either a few credits shy of district requirements or still needing to pass a section of the state-required CAHSEE, the California High School Exit Examination.
“There are a lot of reasons why some students aren’t ready to graduate in June,” said Assistant Superintendent Martinrex Kedziora, “and many of them are very good reasons. The important thing is their perseverance and commitment to doing what they had to do to graduate and be able to move forward. We’re very proud of the summer graduates.”
