On December 18, the City celebrated the official opening of the brand new Flight Deck Bike Park on the southern side of Morrison Park near the Fire Station.

The event featured light refreshments, a resource fair, and helmet and shirt giveaways. When the ribbon was cut, dozens of biking enthusiasts took to the track to christen the track for the first time.

The Flight Deck Bike Park features the largest Velosolutions pump track in Southern California and includes the region's first adaptive track for riders of all abilities. The park also offers the first asphalt jump lines in Southern California, along with an asphalt bicycle playground designed for young riders. In addition, a one-thousand-foot connecting path incorporates Ambient Glow Technology that uses sunlight-charged glow rocks to illuminate the trail after dark. This feature marks the first use of this technology in Southern California.

Inspired by the City's aviation heritage, the park was designed to offer a cycling experience that provides a welcoming environment for riders of all ages, abilities, and skill levels.
