Arlington Students Rank Top 30 in the Nation in Health Occupations

Four Arlington High School students recently traveled to Nashville to compete in the Health Occupations Students of America National Competition (HOSA).

Nathan Anderson representing Pharmacy Science, placed second in California and Top 30 in the nation.

Emily Torres representing Clinical Nursing, placed sixth in California and top 30 in the nation. Torres is also a former RUSD student board member.

Jacquelyn Lopez, representing Forensic Science, placed second in California and is a qualifier for nationals.

Roselyn Ladwig, representing Forensic Science, is a qualifier for nationals.

"This is huge for them and our program," said Steven Ybarra, Arlington High School Principal. "They represented Arlington, RUSD and California with pride, character and class the entire time."

This accomplishment marks the first time Riverside Unified School District has placed in the HOSA National Competition.

In addition, the Project Lead The Way Biomed program was once again recognized as a Project Lead The Way Distinguished High School. Arlington is one of 191 schools across the nation to receive this honor for their commitment to help students own their education by increasing student access, engagement and achievement.
