MORENO VALLEY>> As many people drive around the city, it can be seen that many Christmas lights are set up and the decorations are out. The community is invited to join the Western Riverside Council of Governments at one of the local community events to exchange old holiday lights for new LED holiday lights provided by The Home Depot and receive a free energy efficiency starter kit. The opportunity is available to all Southern California Edison and Southern California Gas residential customers in Western Riverside County. The remaining events include Breakfast with Santa in the City of Wildomar at Fire Station 61 on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 8-11 a.m. and the Parade of Lights and Christmas Festival in the City of Norco at the George Ingalls Event Center Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fire Station 61 is located at 32637 Gruwell St. in Wildomar, CA 92595 and the George Ingalls Event Center is located at 3737 Crestview Ave in Norco, CA 92860. Participants in the LED Holiday Light Exchange must bring a recent copy of SCE monthly bill or proof of electronic bill payment, a license or picture identification matching the customer name on the SCE bill and old inefficient incandescent holiday lights. Participants can exchange up to two strands and the lights must still work, strands must be 50 count or higher and contain all bulb parts. To receive a free energy efficiency kit, participants must bring a copy of a monthly SoCal Gas bill or electronic bill and a license or photo identification matching the customer name and address on the SoCal Gas bill. One hundred exchanges will be available per event and 50 energy efficiency starter kits will be available per event.
