Employers Invited to Business Seminar, Focus on Payroll Requirements

The Inland Empire Small Business Development Center has announced it will host a seminar to help employers better understand employment tax laws. The seminar will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 16 and will include an overview of California payroll reporting requirements for independent contractors and employees, according to a release issued by the IESBDC. The Independent Contractor vs. Employee seminar will be presented by a representative from the California State Employment Development Department and will cover the following key topics: - Factors that make a worker an employee. - The basics of statutory employment. - And independent contractor reporting requirements. This seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Moreno Valley Conference Center, 14075 Frederick Street, Alessandro Room A, in Moreno Valley. This free seminar is sponsored by the City of Moreno Valley. Pre-registration is recommended, as seating is limited. For additional information on this seminar, please call 951-781-2345.
