Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce Announces 2014 Installation and Award Banquet Winners

“The Roaring 20’s” was the theme for the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce's 2014 Installation and Awards Banquet held on Friday, Jan. 24. Ed Vasquez from Tuxedo Express emceed the evening of recognitions and awards. Janet Epstein CPM (Certified Property Management), the outgoing Chairman of the Board, presented the Chairman’s Award to Sandy Ramirez of Moreno Valley Flower Box for her support, dedication and commitment to the Chamber. 2014 Business of the Year Awards were given to: Small Business of the Year – LDC Photography; Medium Business of the Year – Integrated Care Communities; and Large Business of the Year – Moss Bros. Auto Group. The 2014 Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce Executive Board is as follows: Rod Ballance, Chair – Bud’s Tire Pros; Dr. Sandra Mayo, Vice Chair – Moreno Valley College; Janet Epstein, CPM – Immediate Past Chair; Howard Saner, Treasurer – Riverside Physician Network. Directors Donna Bennett – Riverside County Regional Medical Center; Jamil Dada – Provident Bank; Greg Donahue – Moss Bros. Auto Group; Janet DuHaime – Visterra Credit Union; Rexanne Mummert – Moreno Valley Unified School District; Shanna Palau – City of Moreno Valley; Corey Seale – Kaiser Permanente; Dave Slawson – Eastern Municipal Water District; Kerri Stevens – SecurCare Self Storage; Jason Ward – Ayres Hotel & Spa; and Karyn Young-Lowe – Lighthouse Social Service Center were sworn in by Moreno Valley Police Chief Joel Ontiveros. Immediately following the swearing in ceremony 2013 Chair Janet Epstein passed the official gavel to the 2014 Chairman Rod Ballance. The evening concluded with Oscar Valdepeña, President/CEO, presenting the 2014 Citizen of the Year Award to Dr. Judy D. White. Dr. White, Superintendent of the Moreno Valley Unified School District, was selected by a committee which included past Citizen of the Year and Business award recipients. Dr. White continually promotes the importance of education and community pride.
