MVUSD helping make “Strides Against Poverty”

Moreno Valley Unified is proud of our community partnerships, and one recent event from the ONEBODY organization, which is under the Genesis Christian Fellowship, was able to provide much-needed resources to members of the community.

With Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora’s support, the organization was able to hold its annual shoe giveaway at Sunnymead Elementary School. The group provides assistance to struggling families which in turn helps students be better prepared to participate in learning at school.

This year the group was able to give away 531 pairs of new shoes to families of Moreno Valley and the surrounding communities.

“Helping reduce the cost of facilities for a project like this is part of our effort to make positive contributions to the community, I’m proud we provided the space to make this event possible,” said Superintendent Kedziora. MVUSD will continue to work with community groups that provide supportive programs to district students and families.
