City Libraries are Evolving

Today, I’d like to shine a spotlight on one of the City’s most valuable treasures: our libraries! From the Main Library on Alessandro Boulevard, to the Iris Plaza Branch, to our Mall Branch above Crunch Fitness, and even our Little Free Libraries scattered around town, there’s something for everyone, no matter where you live.

Our libraries have evolved to offer more than just books (though we have thousands of those, too!). With your free library card, you can access a wide range of services from the comfort of your home. You can check out eBooks, stream over 30,000 movies, documentaries, and kids’ favorites on Kanopy, or request a hard-to-find title through our innovative Zip Books Program (and have it delivered right to your home – at no cost!). This level of convenience is another way of showing that we're here to support you.

For our youngest residents, we have engaging programs like 1000 Books Before Kindergarten® that help set kids up for lifelong success. Our libraries also keep things fresh with a variety of hands-on fun activities. For instance, the Moreno Valley High School Robotics Club visits during Discovery Club, where kids can meet real robots, try robo-bowling, and even drive a robot car! The variety of programs we offer is sure to keep you and your family excited and engaged.

We also offer vital community connections, like Veterans Connect at the Library, which links veterans and their families to important benefits and services. Further proof that we value and appreciate our community members. With a full calendar of events for all ages, friendly staff, and three branches to choose from, there’s never been a better time to discover everything the Moreno Valley libraries offer.

If you haven’t visited a branch lately, stop by in person or explore online at moval.org/library. Whether you’re after a good book, a movie night, or a new experience for your kids, our libraries are here for you. I’ll see you there!
