The City of Moreno Valley encourages residents to submit applications for Military Appreciation Banners and Pavers by October 10.
The City installs Military Appreciation Banners and Pavers around City Hall and March Air Reserve Base in support of local military personnel and their families. The program also promotes patriotism and pride throughout our community by recognizing residents who currently serve or have served in the past.
"We are fortunate to have so many veterans and military families in our community," explained Dr. Yxstian A. Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. "We take great pride in their service to our nation and feel a deep sense of gratitude to each of them."
Military Appreciation Banners cost $190 to design, produce, and install a banner on a streetlight pole. The nominee must currently serve in the US military.
Military Pavers are located around the Veterans Memorial at the Moreno Valley Civic Center and are inscribed with the names of military veterans and active duty personnel and their branch of service. The cost is $200, and the nominee must currently serve in the US military or be a veteran.
Applications for Banners and Pavers are available on the City's website. For more information, please contact the City’s Parks & Community Services Department at 951.413.3701 or visit www.moval.org/vetsmemorial.
