Crafton Hills College Schedules Summer Theatre Workshops

Crafton Hills College has summer plans for those who love musical theatre and now is the perfect time to get involved.

"From June 15 to August 6, Crafton Hills has scheduled eight new, unpublished scripts that playwrights have graciously let us have a crack at work-shopping," said Paul Jacques, Professor of Theatre Arts. "That's right: one play per week. We will begin rehearsals each Monday, via Zoom, on a new play. That play will be presented, via Zoom and YouTube live, each Thursday night."

Due to the unique format of the workshops, which are traditionally staged readings, the rehearsals will take place via Zoom so the audience and talent are invited to participate from anywhere.

"This is truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity for our community and our students," added Jacques. "I cannot wait to see what our current students and new students bring to these courses. Their talent is endless and we are honored to be able to join them in this experience."

For those interested in registering for the courses, please contact Paul Jacques at pjacques@sbccd.cc.ca.us or visit the register for courses page on the Crafton Hills College website, here, and select course THART 150.
