MORENO VALLEY>> You’ve heard of paint and sip painting parties, right? Well, meet the party with a twist —Scribble ‘n Nibble writing parties, born right here in the Inland Empire. Creativity abounds at the hottest new party concept to hit the area. Party coordinator and local author Debby Johnson said she promises to inspire the scribbles while the party host provides the nibbles. “It’s the most fun two hours you’ll spend,“ Johnson said. “Each party is as unique as the participants.” Scribble ‘n Nibble participants play writing games and explore creative writing while using various tools and techniques. Most of all, Johnson said they have fun and participants take home a pile of goodies, as well. Each paid participant receives a Scribble 'n Nibble notebook, with information to help them with their writing, a custom journal and pen. Plus, each paid participant will be invited to submit work to be published in The Scribbler’s Anthology. The host receives a custom tote bag as a special bonus. There are plenty of party options for everyone. Those interested can host their own party with a minimum of five attendees, or sign up for the open party hosted by March Field Air Museum on Oct. 29 in the Yeager Family Library. The first five to sign up for the March Field Air Museum event will also receive an added bonus - the book "Spark a Story: 101 Writing Prompts to Kindle Your Imagination." For more information contact the museum at (951) 992-9405 or visit www.scribbleandnibble.com. Johnson, the party coordinator is uniquely qualified to lead the creative adventures. She’s the author of two children’s books, a book of poetry, a book for writers, plus a soon-to-be-released chapter book for children. In addition, she has contributed to two Chicken Soup for the Soul books, teaches a creative writing class, runs a local writer’s group and offers services as a writing coach. She is working on a novel, which has already garnered attention and interest from the publishing world. Johnson is an engaging speaker and frequently gives motivational speeches and talks about writing and the publishing process as well as marketing strategies. Johnson said if you’ve ever dreamed of writing a book, being published or just working on your writing skills, Scribble ‘n Nibble parties are for you. Johnson can be reached at (951) 442-8698 or via email at debby@debbyjohnson.com.
