Moreno Valley Hosts Townhall to Focus on Proposed Budget

MORENO VALLEY>> The City of Moreno Valley hosted a second Town Hall meeting on Saturday, April 15, to discuss the city's proposed budget for major programs for fiscal years 2017/18 and 2018/19. The first Budget Town Hall was held April 12. The Town Halls are part of the city's continued efforts to seek public input and provide residents with information about the city's budget. The city's two-year General Fund budget is currently being developed to maintain a balanced budget which implements the city's "Momentum MoVal" strategic plan, while ensuring ongoing costs are funded by ongoing revenues. This spending plan will guide the city through its sixth consecutive year of financial stability. The Town Halls provide additional opportunities for Moreno Valley residents to be part of the discussion on the city's long-term financial priorities and the development of the proposed two-year budget. City staff will incorporate feedback they receive at these sessions into funding recommendations presented subsequently to the City Council for deliberation.
