It’s an understatement to say that Kyla Vincson likes to read. She has improved her reading skills so much through the READ 180 program that she has been selected as a 2015 Scholastic 180 Award winner for her accomplishments as a READ 180 Stage A student – one of just 16 chosen nationwide.
READ 180 is an adaptive reading-intervention program.
“Knowing how to read has given me confidence to learn how to read music and know the notes of my favorite songs,” Kyla wrote. “I know that knowing how to read well is the key to all my hopes and dreams for my life. I am going to go to Harvard or Juilliard. I feel so excited about my future.”
As a READ 180 winner, Vincson wins $1,200 from Scholastic, and the nominating teachers win free READ 180, System 44 and/or MATH 180 materials worth $1,000 for their school.
Congratulations to Kyla and her READ 180 teachers, Michelle Wilson and Jamie Foreman.
