REDLANDS >> Hangar 24 hosted their 8th annual AirFest celebration on Saturday, May 14th. It was a charity fundraising event which functioned primarily as a fair, but for a greater cause. This venue included a rock climbing wall, musical performances, dozens of aircrafts for show, a KidZone, and of course a wide variety of Hangar 24's craft beer selection. The KidZone included a bounce house, Star Wars characters, and magic shows. Hangar 24's founder, Ben Cook, began home brewing around the early 2000's. Around the same time, he was immersed in the culture of aviation which ultimately fueled the events to come. The key to the success of each event was each participant's contribution to the community. Kaitlyn Mendoza, Social Media & Marketing Coordinator at Hangar 24 Craft Brewery, says that Hangar 24 is part of a network of charity organizations that helped raise over $150,000 last year alone. Each event's proceeds go directly towards charity excluding the several few which helped organize such a cause. People from all over-- including local charities branches, city government officials, the fire department, the police department-- gathered together to celebrate the joy of lending a helping hand to those who are in need.
