Moreno Valley Wins 19th Consecutive Award

MORENO VALLEY>> The City of Moreno Valley has been awarded the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting for its FY 2015/16 comprehensive annual financial reporting (CAFR). The CAFR contains detailed information such as financial highlights such as balance sheets or debt increases from project funding, as well as overviews of financial statements

This marks the 19th consecutive time City has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

The City was also honored with GFOA’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for its popular annual financial report (PAFR).The City has earned this distinction every year since it began publishing the PAFR in in 2014. The PAFR covers information regarding the financial activities for the city of Moreno Valley and is drawn from the CAFR.

Both reports are available on the City's website: CAFR and PAFR 

The City’s CAFR and PAFR were judged by impartial panels to have met the high standards of the programs. The City’s publications were honored as a result of their ability to clearly communicate the City’s fiscal picture and motivate members of the public to learn more.

Moreno Valley was recently ranked the third most fiscally strong City in the nation by the Fiscal Times, and has a balanced budget for the sixth straight year.
