RUHS Expo Spotlights Important Role of Community Clinics in Local and National Public Healthcare System

MORENO VALLEY>> The public is invited to Riverside University Health System’s free celebration of its community-based health clinics. The celebration coincides with National Health Center Week, which recognizes the vital role community health centers play in the national healthcare system. For more than 50 years, community health centers across the country have delivered comprehensive, high-quality preventive and primary health care to patients regardless of their ability to pay. The 10 community health centers operated by RUHS throughout Riverside County deliver nearly 130,000 patient visits annually. Nationwide, community health centers serve more than 25 million Americans a year.

Annual RUHS Community Health Expo, Health screenings, resources and fun activities such as: A1C / Glucose Screening,  Blood Pressure Screening, Body Mass Index Screening, Immunizations. Expo will take place at Don Schroeder Rubidoux Family Care Center at 5256 Mission Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92509 on Tuesday August 15. Event will begin with opening remarks at 10 a.m., activities will go until 2 p.m.  

Clinic tours, interviews with community health experts, local leaders and stakeholders, shadowing, photography and video opportunities are available to reporters.
