MORENO VALLEY>> The city's Public Works will be conducting a citywide pedestrian safety study as part of its continuing efforts to improve traffic safety and reduce collisions involving pedestrians.

The study will analyze the city’s programs, practices, and policies relating to improving pedestrian safety to identify key strengths and opportunities to meet or exceed national best practices. Low cost countermeasures will be developed to reduce pedestrian-related collisions and improve traffic safety across the City. The city of Moreno Valley works hard to make improvements to roadway safety in order to reduce possible hazards or risks to any roadway users.

The review of the city's traffic system is made possible through a $135,000 grant from the Systemic Safety Analysis Report Program (SSARP). The study is estimated to cost $150,000, of which the City will contribute $15,000. The primary goal is to focus on pedestrian safety as well as traffic safety in order to minimize the possible risks and accidents that occur when using the roadways.
