Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) was recognized this week by the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) for outstanding work with its Landscapes for Living program.
EMWD was recognized with an Excellence in Public Information and Communications (EPIC) Award for its Landscapes for Living microsite, earning top honors in the category. EMWD also received an Award of Distinction in the “Communications and Marking Plan – Consultant Supported” category.
EMWD’s Landscape for Living program is a customer-focused initiative that promotes residential outdoor water use efficiency through the consolidation of rebate programs, landscape transformation and design, resources, and information. EMWD launched the program in 2021 with the assistance of consulting firm NV5, which was a co-recipient of the awards.
The program has been highly successful and has assisted EMWD in engaging customers during California’s historic drought.
CAPIO is an organization of public sector communications professionals across all levels of government. It provides training and resources to strengthen community engagement as a foundation for government transparency.
