MORENO VALLEY>> As a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, Vista Heights Middle School has started a new language program and students have been engaged during the first week of courses.

All 6th graders at Vista Heights will rotate through French, Mandarin and Spanish courses each trimester. Getting a sample of each language will help students decide which language to pursue as they move forward in their academic careers. When students reach 7th and 8th grades, they may select language classes to prepare them for high school, but there is also the option to take World Language Level 1 and 2 courses, which offer high school and A-G credit upon successful completion.

“This is yet another amazing opportunity for any student wanting to attend a school with a specialized learning experience,” said Principal Mark Hasson. Having Canyon Springs High School as an International Baccalaureate School and Vista Heights as a candidate school offers MVUSD a chance to create a unique academic path to prepare students for a strong future.
