A heat alert for cool center activation has been triggered in Moreno Valley. With temperatures expected to remain above 100 degrees for the next five days in most Riverside County cities, individuals susceptible to heat, such as the elderly and young children are encouraged to locate a cool center if an air conditioned home is unavailable. Call 951-413-3880 for more information, Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. People with the following symptoms should try to remain in a cool place and drink water to prevent dehydration: headache, dizziness, weakness or muscle pains, and nausea or vomiting.
