Unique family event to view and learn about “Where the Wild Things Are at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve” Presented by Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation and Riverside County Regional Park and Open Space District.
This event will take place at Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve (SRPER) - 39400 Clinton Keith Road, Murrieta 92562. There will be free shuttle parking for visitors' convenience. The event will take place on Saturday – November 4, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Cost is $5 for adults and $4 for children (2 – 12). Under 2 is free. There are no advance ticket sales – pay on site only. In honor of Veterans Day – Retired, active and reserve military with ID cards – Free Admission.

The Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation (SRPNEF) and Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District (RIVCOPARKS) announce the return of the popular Family Wildlife Day to the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve on Saturday, November 4, 2017 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Families visit wild animals, live birds, snakes, and a variety of mammals. Designed to inform, entertain and inspire children and their families to learn more about the Reserve and the natural world. The day will also include “bats, bugs and creepy crawly things” with presentations by Project Wildlife, Sierra Club, and UC. Temecula Valley Astronomers bring solar telescopes. Margie Valdez from the Hidden Valley Nature Center helps kids explore the world of live reptiles. The Western Science Center shares hidden treasures found beneath SW Riverside County as kids explore fossils and cool science. The day offers nature walks, crafts, activities, music, and games.
The SRNEPF partners with RivCoParks to ensure funding for the children nature education programs for grades 3-12 at the Reserve which include Third Grade Education, Third Grade Title 1 Outreach, 4th Grade Trout-in-the-Classroom, 5th Grade Seed Bank Studies, Middle School Grassland Restoration and a high school Habitat Studies and Restoration Program. Serving 10 school districts and 9,000 students per school year, SRPNEF’s mission is to educate and empower youth to appreciate, protect and preserve nature.
