MORENO VALLEY >> Hundreds of students, staff and parents from many schools and from the community attended a candlelight vigil in memory of three Moreno Valley Unified School District students.
Bayside Community Day School student Kiara Quilo, Valley View High School student Nicole Hache and Valley View High School alumnus Aldo Acosta died in a car accident. VVHS alumnus Devin Thomas remains hospitalized. The vigil, held at the Valley View football field, included remarks from family members, selected friends, teachers and district representatives.
“On behalf of our School Board and all our employees, I send my deepest condolences to the family and friends of all those involved in this terrible tragedy,” said Dr. Judy D. White., MVUSD Superintendent. “We will do whatever we can to provide support for our students and staff, especially those within the Valley View and Bayside school communities.”
A school district crisis team will provide counseling for any students or family who need assistance.
