Fall Events

Fall in Moreno Valley is one of my favorite times of the year. The warm days are showing signs of cooling down, and we have plenty of incredible events lined up, running the gamut from outdoor adventures to cultural traditions.

If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, you’ll enjoy our Hike to the Top series, exploring MoVal’s scenic trails, meet your neighbors, and enjoy some fresh air. On September 20, we’ll trek through Hidden Springs for an easy-paced 4.8-mile hike. Then, on October 18, join us at Fairway Park for a moderate climb up Terri Peak. Trust me, the views at the top are worth it! Just remember to bring water, good shoes, and maybe even a walking stick if you like.

On Saturday, November 1, we’ll gather at the Civic Amphitheater for our Day of the Dead Celebration. This cherished tradition honors loved ones who’ve passed on, with music, dance, and beautiful altars. It’s a moving, vibrant evening that reminds us how culture, family, and remembrance bring us together across generations.

Just a few days later, on Tuesday, November 11, at 11 a.m., we’ll honor our nation’s heroes at the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Civic Center Veterans Memorial. I encourage you to join me and the City Council as we salute the brave men and women who have served our country.

And finally, mark your calendars for a burst of color and fun! On Saturday, November 15, our popular MoVal Fun Color Run takes off from the Civic Center Amphitheater. Whether you run, walk, bring a stroller, or even your color-loving canine, it’s all about getting moving and enjoying the day. With colored powder, music, medals, and plenty of good vibes, it’s going to be an unforgettable morning.

This fall, let’s celebrate everything that makes Moreno Valley special: our trails, our traditions, our heroes, and our joy. I hope to see you at one (or all!) of these events.
