The City of Moreno Valley is opening a new library at the Moreno Valley Mall. The establishment of the City’s first-ever satellite branch library is the fulfillment of a major City Council priority identified in the “Momentum MoVal” strategic plan.

“Opening a satellite library was a top priority of our residents when we conducted surveys while developing the City’s first strategic plan. I’m proud that we accomplished this project in just 16 months,” stated Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez. “Empowering our residents through open access to knowledge is a key component in our strategic vision for the Moreno Valley community.”

The Thursday, December 21 Grand Opening festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting celebration. Fun activities for youth will take place throughout the day.

The new branch is located in the Mall on the second floor, across from Sears and next to HomeTown Buffet. All residents are invited to join the City in celebrating this new branch of the Moreno Valley Library.

Planned activities include:

· Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

· Free Raffles

· Face Painting

· Balloon Artist

· Anime Drawing Classes

· Magician

· Local Author Book Readings

· Wednesday 1 pm to 8 pm
