Charles Jefferson, a professional boxer from Moreno Valley, California, known in the ring as “A.R.P.,” has a story that’s as inspiring as his fighting style. Growing up, Jefferson was adopted by his aunt and uncle and found himself frequently getting into trouble. It was his older cousin who first introduced him to boxing, seeing it as a way to channel his energy positively.

Jefferson’s journey took him from Moreno Valley to Florida, where he trained under Karl McNair at Deland Christian Warriors. There, he made a name for himself, winning Golden Gloves and state tournaments. His career then led him from Florida to New Jersey, Philly, New York, and back to Paris, California. After a brief hiatus from boxing, during which he served in the military, Jefferson returned to the sport with renewed vigor.

Now 31, Jefferson is back in the ring with a versatile fighting style that combines power, speed, and agility. Standing at 6’4” and fighting as a Southpaw, he describes his style as a “complete package” capable of both brawling and counterpunching. His recent victory, a second-round knockout advancing him to 2-0 with 2 knockouts on August 16th, underscores his readiness for future challenges. Jefferson is currently aiming for a fight in November, though the schedule is still being finalized.

A significant part of Jefferson’s resurgence can be attributed to his dedicated coaching team at P-Town Boxing Academy. Head Coach Angel Ochoa Sr. and his son, Coach Angel Ochoa Jr., have been instrumental in Jefferson’s comeback. Their unwavering support and belief in his potential have played a crucial role in his success. Jefferson speaks highly of their motivational approach and detailed training, which have helped him refine his skills and stay focused.

Jefferson also praises P-Town Boxing for its supportive and family-oriented environment. He highlights that the gym is not only a place for serious training but also welcomes individuals looking to improve their fitness or boxing skills. The sense of community and dedication at P-Town Boxing has been a cornerstone of his preparation.

Motivation for Jefferson comes from his children and his desire to inspire his community. He believes in pushing through obstacles and staying focused on personal goals, regardless of others’ opinions. His advice to those pursuing their dreams is clear: “Don’t listen to anybody else. Keep pushing and don’t take no for an answer.”

As Jefferson looks towards potential fights later this year, his determination and heart continue to drive him. His story is a testament to the power of perseverance, the impact of a strong support system, and the dedication of his coaches at P-Town Boxing.
