The Environmental and Historical Preservation Commission (EHPC), with the support of the Moreno Valley City Council, has launched a City Flag Redesign Contest. The community is invited to leave their mark on the City’s history and enter the competition to redesign the City flag. The theme of the contest is “Having pride for our City’s Past, Present, and Future.”

“This is an exciting contest that will result in an iconic flag that will represent the City for years to come,” said Moreno Valley Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “I am excited to see the talented people of Moreno Valley submit their ideas, and I look forward to us hoisting that new flag up the City Hall flagpole for the first time.”

The contest is open to Moreno Valley residents only. All ages are eligible to submit, and cash prizes will be awarded for the top three designs chosen by the EHPC. Submissions are officially accepted from August 11 to October 13, 2025, either via email at EHPC@moval.org or in person at City Hall during normal business hours. The Moreno Valley City Council will choose a winner from the top three designs.

Visit the Moreno Valley Flag Redesign Contest webpage on the City’s website for details on the competition or call the City of Moreno Valley Planning Division at 951.413.3206.
