Hispanic Heritage Month

It’s Hispanic Heritage Month, and I’m thrilled to celebrate our Hispanic community's rich culture, vibrant traditions, and incredible contributions right here in Moreno Valley. From the sounds of mariachi music filling the air, to the aroma of homemade tamales in the air, this is a time to honor the diversity that makes our City so special.

 

Hispanic Heritage Month is more than just a celebration; it’s a reminder of the powerful stories and the deep roots that our Hispanic neighbors, friends, and family bring to our shared community.

 

Throughout this month, various events will highlight Hispanic culture's art, history, and traditions. And don’t miss out on the lighting of our iconic Moreno Valley ‘M’, lit up in orange, red, purple, blue, and green in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Awareness. I encourage everyone to participate—whether it’s attending a local festival, trying a new dish from one of our amazing Hispanic-owned restaurants, or learning about the history of influential Hispanic figures who’ve shaped our world.

 

This celebration is also a great opportunity to reflect on the values that unite us all—family, hard work, and a deep sense of community. It’s these values that have helped build Moreno Valley into the vibrant City it is today

 

 

Es el Mes de la Herencia Hispana y estoy encantado de celebrar la rica cultura, las tradiciones vibrantes y las contribuciones increíbles de nuestra comunidad hispana aquí mismo en Moreno Valley. Desde los sonidos de la música de mariachi que llenan el aire, hasta el aroma de los tamales caseros en el aire, este es un momento para honrar la diversidad que hace que nuestra ciudad sea tan especial.

 

El Mes de la Herencia Hispana es más que una simple celebración; es un recordatorio de las poderosas historias y las profundas raíces que nuestros vecinos, amigos y familiares hispanos aportan a nuestra comunidad compartida.

 

Durante todo este mes, varios eventos resaltarán el arte, la historia y las tradiciones de la cultura hispana. Y no se pierda la iluminación de nuestra icónica ‘M’ de Moreno Valley, iluminada en naranja, rojo, morado, azul y verde para celebrar la Conciencia de la Herencia Hispana. Animo a todos a participar, ya sea asistiendo a un festival local, probando un plato nuevo de uno de nuestros increíbles restaurantes de propiedad hispana o aprendiendo sobre la historia de figuras hispanas influyentes que han dado forma a nuestro mundo.

 

Esta celebración es también una gran oportunidad para reflexionar sobre los valores que nos unen a todos: la familia, el trabajo duro y un profundo sentido de comunidad. Son estos valores los que han ayudado a convertir a Moreno Valley en la ciudad vibrante que es hoy.
