Historic $50 Million Investment

By City of Moreno Valley

02/08/2022 at 03:23 PM

The Moreno Valley City Council approved a historic $50 million investment toward Citywide pavement rehabilitation, the most significant public works expenditure in Moreno Valley's history.

The Council approved the investment during the February 1, 2022 City Council meeting as part of the first quarter budget update.

"This incredible investment in our infrastructure will ensure that our Moreno Valley streets will continue to be well-maintained and beautiful," said Dr. Yxstian Gutiérrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. "We are committed to maintaining our roads, and this allocation is a testament to our dedication."

Roads have consistently been at the top of Moreno Valley residents' priorities. In response, the Moreno Valley Pavement Rehabilitation Plan will target roads most in need of repair across the City.

The Plan will accelerate nearly ten years of scheduled road work into roughly 18 months of construction time. Work will begin later this year, with an estimated completion date of June 2023.

Funding for this historic allocation largely comes from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
