Homicide Investigation

On April 3, 2018, at about 11:50 p.m., officers assigned to the Moreno Valley Police Department and firefighters from the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire, Moreno Valley Fire Services were dispatched to the 14000 block of Cloverfield Road to investigate a report of a structure fire. The victim, Amy Morrison, a 45-year-old female, who resided in the home, was found unresponsive. Morrison was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased.   On 04/04/2018, due to suspicious circumstances, detectives from the Moreno Valley Police Department, arson investigators from CAL FIRE, and the Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation. A 15-year-old female, who resides within the home, was arrested for murder and arson and booked into juvenile hall. Her name is being withheld due to her age. The investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
