March Mountain High School is one of 36 schools across the state recognized as Model Continuation High Schools (MCHS) for 2022.

“We are incredibly proud of the state-wide recognition as a model school,” said Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora. “March Mountain High School provides students with outstanding support and resources for students to succeed academically, socially and emotionally. This recent recognition reflects the school's commitment and dedication to student empowerment and success.”

Within the past couple years, March Mountain High School launched a cosmetology program and eSports Program, which has provided students with unique opportunities to fully engage with the school and explore new opportunities for success. It offers a variety of clubs to ignite student interest while also increasing physical and mental wellness such as the art club and weightlifting club.

“Despite the challenging experiences our students may face, they remain optimistic and look forward to a bright and successful future,” said Board President Cleveland Johnson. “March Mountain is a true model school, and we are excited to know they were recognized for their efforts in making a positive impact on our students.”

The MCHS were selected based on a comprehensive application process that included submission of detailed narrative statements describing specific aspects of school operations and how these were exemplary and the use of assessment tools and data to support continuous improvement. The process included a peer review panel and on-site visit.

The 36 schools selected as MCHS retain their designation for three years and will be recognized at the CCEA Plus 2022 State Conference in Long Beach, California, on May 5–8, 2022.
