The City of Moreno Valley is proud to announce that Mayor Ulises Cabrera and Council Member Ed Delgado have both been appointed to prominent leadership positions within the League of California Cities

Mayor Cabrera has joined the League’s Board of Directors and was also sworn in for a second year as Vice President of the Cal Cities Latino Caucus.

"I'm deeply honored to join the League's Board of Directors," Mayor Cabrera said. "This is an opportunity to represent Moreno Valley and the Inland Empire on a larger stage, ensuring that our city continues to be a significant part of the statewide conversation.”

Addressing his role as Vice President of the Cal Cities Latino Caucus, Cabrera added, "As someone who has lived in underserved communities, I have seen the challenges firsthand; I'm passionate about lifting every voice, and pushing for equity and inclusion, not only for Moreno Valley but for cities across the state."

Council Member Ed Delgado, a 23-year Riverside County Sheriff’s Department veteran and former U.S. Coast Guard, has been appointed to the Cal Cities Public Safety Commission.

“Public safety is at the heart of our quality of life,” Delgado said. “Serving on this commission allows me to help create policies that protect communities like Moreno Valley while enhancing security for cities across California.”

Delgado’s decades of service in public safety and his dedication to education as an adjunct instructor at Moreno Valley College have shaped his focus on creating safer, more secure environments for all residents. His appointment to the commission extends his commitment to improving public safety at every level.

These appointments highlight the City’s growing influence within statewide organizations, with Mayor Cabrera and Council Member Delgado continuing to focus on policies that elevate public safety, infrastructure, and community well-being. Their leadership is expected to bring new opportunities to Moreno Valley and help create lasting partnerships across the state and beyond.

The League of California Cities, founded in 1898, advocates for local government control and serves as a collective voice for cities across the state. Through the League, city officials collaborate to develop innovative policies, address common challenges, and advocate for legislation that benefits their communities.
