Mayor's Message Get Tested

By Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

As I write this week, more than 5,000 Californians have died of Covid-19, 31 of them here in Moreno Valley.  Now that coronavirus testing is finally available locally, however, we have a chance to better fight back by identifying where the virus is.  As Mayor, I join with health professionals in urging all residents to take advantage of the testing sites we have in Moreno Valley and nearby.  Every test helps further isolate the virus.

Moreno Valley’s Riverside County Public Health coronavirus testing site is located at CrossWord Christian Church, 21401 Box Springs Road, and is open Mon. –  Fri., 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The Perris Fairgrounds site at 18700 Lake Perris Drive is open Tues. – Sat., 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Testing at County-run sites is open to anyone, regardless of symptoms, and is free, but you must call and make an appointment: 1-800-945-6171.

For a list of all County-run testing sites, visit www.rivcoph.org/coronavrirus/testing.

CVS Pharmacy has opened a drive-thru coronavirus testing site at its store located in Lakeside Terrace Center at 26180 Iris Ave.  You can make an appointment at www.minuteclinic.com, but you must meet certain criteria to qualify for a test.  More information is at www.cvs.com/minuteclinic/covid-19-testing.

Please keep up the fight against coronavirus with physical distancing, hand-washing, face coverings – and now with testing.
