Mayor’s Message: Pavement Rehabilitation Program

By Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

Last week, the City Council and I approved construction contracts for the second phase of our ongoing Pavement Rehabilitation Program.

Approving these contracts is a big step for our $50 million citywide Pavement Rehabilitation Program, and it will ensure that the program’s next leg will be fully funded and completed on schedule.

You may have noticed already, but we are hard at work repairing roads big and small as part of Phase One of the Pavement Rehabilitation Program.

Pavement crews have hit the road, filling potholes and smoothing streets throughout Moreno Valley.

In fact, we’re rehabilitating nearly 190 miles of Moreno Valley roads. It’s the largest Public Works project in our City’s history.

And we’re getting the work done at a record pace. We’re condensing ten years’ worth of road work into just 18 months.

That’s a lot of work in a short time!

I want to thank you for your continued patience as we roll up our sleeves and rehab Moreno Valley’s roads.

I am thankful to our contractors and City Staff for their hard work in making this project a reality.
