Mayor's Message: Snow Day and Tree Lighting Ceremony

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

The holiday season is here, and Moreno Valley is already feeling the festive spirit.

It’s my favorite time of the year. I love seeing houses across the City transformed with beautiful holiday lights, and families bringing trees home to be adorned with beautiful ornaments, lights, and garland.

It’s no secret that Moreno Valley really shines during the holidays. Our annual holiday events are among the best in the Inland Empire.

This year, we are kicking off the holiday season the right way on Saturday, December 4 during our Snow Day and Tree Lighting Ceremony.

We’re turning our Civic Center Amphitheater into a beautiful Candyland Village during our annual Snow Day, which will feature real snow, food vendors, and holiday film favorites on our Amphitheater screen for kids to enjoy. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and it’s only five dollars for Moreno Valley residents and eight dollars for non-residents to enjoy an entire day of winter wonderland fun.

After our Snow Day, stick around for our Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:45 p.m. outside City Hall. We’ll be lighting our iconic 30-foot-tall Holiday Tree, and the event will feature performances from the Canyon Springs High School Madrigals, free cookies and hot cocoa courtesy of Sandals Church, and a special appearance by a certain jolly someone from the North Pole.

I guarantee it will be an evening to remember. I can’t wait to see you there.
