Mayor's Weekly Message 69

Dear Moreno Valley Residents:

Mothers are our first teachers, our first friends, and they introduce us into the world. A mother's love for her children is matched only by her willingness to sacrifice to ensure their success. This Sunday we take the opportunity to honor all moms on Mother's Day.

On Sunday, May 12, I invite you to experience all that Moreno Valley has to offer this Mother's Day. Go for a walk at any of our beautiful parks, see a movie, dine at a local restaurant (of mom's choice), or find the perfect gift.

The City of Moreno Valley is full of restaurants and retailers perfectly suited to meet your Mother's Day needs. Show mom how much you care by patronizing local businesses, including these companies recently recognized as part our Spotlight on Moreno Valley Business program:

• Aleea Flowers

• Baskin Robbins

• Cajun Wild

• Cosmic Ice Cream

• Cold Stone Creamery

• Culichi Town

• Cupcake & Espresso Bar

• Dragon House

• Jitterz Coffee

• La Bamba Restaurant

• Los Cantaros Grill

• Hyundai of Moreno Valley

• Moreno Family Donuts

• Moss Bros. Auto Group

• Mountain Mike's Pizza

• Oishii Sushi

• Pottery Barn Outlet

• Woody's Restaurant

Moreno Valley offers a wide selection of major retailers, and popular national dining options as well. Be sure to make your Mother's Day reservations today.

I would also like to encourage residents to welcome a furry new addition to their family this Mother's Day. The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter will host a Mother's Day Pet Adoption Event from May 7-9, and May 21-23 from 10 am to 5:30 pm. For more information on how to adopt a pet for mom, please visit www.moval.org/pets.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the women that care for the sons and daughters of our community! Enjoy your special day!
