Mayor's Weekly Message 74

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

We are so fortunate to live in such a family-friendly community.  This Father’s Day, I encourage you to celebrate the fathers and father figures in your families by getting out and enjoying together the family-friendly community we love.

It could be something as simple as taking a walk around your neighborhood or visiting one of our city’s beautiful parks or facilities to play and relax.

Maybe you want to have breakfast, lunch or dinner with dad at one of the many wonderful long-established or brand-new restaurants that also call Moreno Valley home.

Looking for the perfect gift for the father in your life?  You’re sure to find it right here at one of the hundreds of fine retailers that serve our community.

And if you’re looking for a place to simply give thanks for the fathers in your families, there are many houses of worship in our community where you’re sure to be welcomed as friends.

Speaking of friends, I also encourage you to consider welcoming a furry new addition to your family this month in recognition of Father's Day.  From June 11-13 and 25-27, the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is offering low-cost pet adoption fees of just $60 for dogs and puppies and $5 for cats and kittens, which include spay or neuter surgery, vaccines, and a HomeAgain microchip.  The Shelter, located at 14041 Elsworth Street, is open Tuesday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Everything you need to make this Father’s Day special is right here in Moreno Valley!
