Mayor's Weekly Message 89

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

Serving as Mayor of our great city, it’s my pleasure to meet so many talented local artists and performers. Impressive talent truly fills our city, and we’re putting out the call for local artists and performers to showcase their remarkable abilities at our Day of the Dead Celebration.

Day of the Dead is a time to come together and honor and celebrate the lives of our departed loved ones. The City is hosting our community’s annual Day of the Dead Celebration on Friday, October 25, 6-10 p.m. at the Conference & Recreation Center, located right next to City Hall at 14075 Frederick Street.

The event will feature creative and beautiful Day of the Dead altars, traditional food, cultural entertainment and shopping opportunities.  In preparation, the City is seeking artists, performance groups, as well as food and retail vendors for the Day of the Dead Celebration.

This FREE event provides a wonderful opportunity for members of our performing-arts community to have their talents displayed for a broad audience at this family-friendly cultural event.

I encourage all interested artists and performers to apply today online at www.moval.org/dod.
