Mayor’s Weekly Message 98

By Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez
Mayor of Moreno Valley

Dear Moreno Valley Residents,

At Thanksgiving, and all year long, I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to serve as Mayor of the great City of Moreno Valley, and I accept my responsibilities and your trust as a humbling privilege.

This holiday, I am especially thankful for all that we have accomplished together in the past year as a city and a community.  And I look to the future with a strong sense of optimism and excitement.

I’m thankful that the coming year will see even more progress.  New commercial development is on the way and more new local jobs will be created as a result.  And with community input, we will look even farther into the future as we update our City’s General Plan, the land-use document that will guide thoughtful, carefully planned development in Moreno Valley for several years to come.

On a more person-to-person community level, I am continually thankful for the generosity and gentleness of spirit I witness so often.  Whether you are donating toys for the Spark of Love Toy Drive or volunteering your time and energy to beautify and improve a park during our annual Day of Service, the residents of Moreno Valley are always ready to help one another.

We are, indeed, fortunate to have so much for which to be thankful.  I wish us all a safe and very happy Thanksgiving!
