The City of Moreno Valley has earned national recognition for excellence in video production, winning multiple Government Programming Awards (GPAs) from the National Association of Telecommunications Officers & Advisors (NATOA). This highly competitive awards program includes entries from cities across the country.

On August 21, 2025, NATOA honored Moreno Valley with top national awards in the following categories:

  • Environmental (Video) – "Apt to Recycle"
  • Live Community Event Coverage – "State of the City"
  • Public Service Announcement – "Apt to Recycle"
  • Public Safety – "S.A.F.E.R."

"I am consistently impressed with our Media & Communications Division's level of talent, professionalism, and innovation," said Mayor Ulises Cabrera. "Year after year, their hard work is deservedly recognized on the national stage. These awards reaffirm that Moreno Valley continues to be a leader in government communications."

Moreno Valley's award-winning videos are produced entirely in-house by the City's Media & Communications Division. Despite competing against high-budget metropolitan cities like Denver, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., Moreno Valley continues to achieve top national honors year after year. Many of the City's videos are shared at NATOA's national conferences as examples of high-quality government production.

NATOA is a non-profit professional organization serving local governments and regional authorities in developing, regulating, and administering cable television stations and other telecommunications systems. NATOA's mission is to support and help the communications interests and needs of local governments. The association comprises individuals and organizations responsible for communications policies and services in local governments nationwide.

Moreno Valley's award-winning videos are available on MV3 and the City's YouTube channel.
