Moreno Valley Partners with DocuPet for Innovative Pet Licensing Program

The City of Moreno Valley proudly announces its partnership with DocuPet to provide a simplified and modernized pet licensing program to keep pets out of shelters and returned home safely to their families.

DocuPet offers residents an effective pet identification and reunification solution through pet licensing and their complimentary HomeSafe™ 24/7 lost pet service. Though pet licensing is mandatory for dogs and voluntary for cats residing in Moreno Valley, many local pet owners do not license their pets regularly. With the announcement of this new partnership, DocuPet and the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter hope to attract community pet owners to the program.

“DocuPet’s online licensing solution will be extremely valuable to Moreno Valley pet owners and necessary for animal safety in our community,” said Ulises Cabrera, Mayor of Moreno Valley. “This pet licensing partnership will help reduce the number of animals in our shelter and open up space and vital resources for pets most in need of care. We are excited about this partnership and encourage our residents to utilize this program to help protect their four-legged friends.”

Every DocuPet tag is equipped with the free HomeSafe™ 24/7 lost pet service. DocuPet tags are assigned a unique code on the back, which links directly to a pet’s secure online profile, making it easy for anyone who finds a lost pet to reference the code and create a Found Pet Report in seconds. Pet owners can also create Lost Pet Reports as soon as they realize their pet has gone missing, and DocuPet’s dedicated dispatch staff is available around the clock to reunite lost pets with their families.

DocuPet tags will be yet another option the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter provides to keep track of your pet. The Animal Shelter offers low-cost microchipping services, which is the best insurance for reunification if your pet becomes lost. Microchipping is also mandatory in the City of Moreno Valley.

“We are very proud to kick off this effective program to increase pet identification and reunification services for all residents,” said DocuPet CEO Grant Goodwin. “Pets wearing DocuPet license tags spend little to no time in the shelter versus unlicensed pets, and for those pets that do need support and care, license fees help keep the shelter running. We thank Moreno Valley Animal Shelter for coming on board to be an impactful part of the solution.”

With a mission to provide a safe and happy home for every pet, DocuPet’s innovative platform will supply significant resources to the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter, allowing it to operate efficiently and deliver critical animal services.

Pet owners can learn more and register pet licenses online at morenovalley.docupet.com. Licensing by mail, phone, or in person is also available.
