The City of Moreno Valley is proud to announce a partnership with the University of California, Riverside, to provide entrepreneurial workshops and services to the Moreno Valley community.

The partnership with UC Riverside’s Office of Technology Partnerships and staff from the Entrepreneurial Proof of Concept and Innovation Center (EPIC) program will provide entrepreneurial and business-related technical assistance and workshops to Moreno Valley residents at the City’s Business and Employment Resource Center (BERC). Sessions will be held in person and via Zoom. Quarterly workshops will also be held to help establish local entrepreneurs in Moreno Valley.

“Our new partnership will establish the BERC as an epicenter for cultivating local entrepreneurs in Moreno Valley,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “As a UC Riverside alum, I know their expertise will be a massive benefit to our local business community, and our residents will benefit substantially from this partnership. The future of entrepreneurship is right here in Moreno Valley.”

“This partnership is a significant step towards growing the technology innovation ecosystem in our region,” said Dr. Rosibel Ochoa, Associate Vice Chancellor of UC Riverside’s Office of Technology Partnerships. “UC Riverside’s team of expert instructors, advisors, and entrepreneurs in residence is eager to provide specialized mentorship, access to technical expertise, and incubation facilities to the City of Moreno Valley’s entrepreneurs and innovation-based businesses.”

The Moreno Valley City Council unanimously approved the partnership between the City and UC Riverside during the Tuesday, April 4 meeting.

Moreno Valley’s Business and Employment Resource Center is one of the few America Job Centers in California, providing resources, workshops, classes, programs, and job fairs to help Moreno Valley residents land the perfect local job.

UC Riverside’s Office of Technology Partnerships uses university research and discoveries to provide entrepreneurial endeavors to students, faculty, and the community.
