Moreno Valley Mayor Ulises Cabrera was officially selected as the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) Regional Council District #69 Representative. Mayor Cabrera will begin his two-year term in May 2025, serving through May 2027, and will represent both Moreno Valley and the City of Perris.

“Collaboration is key to building a stronger future for Moreno Valley and our entire region,” said Mayor Cabrera. “I’m honored to take on this role and I look forward to working alongside our partners to address affordable housing and continuing to boost the region’s economy.”

SCAG is the nation’s largest metropolitan planning organization, covering six counties and nearly 19 million residents. The Regional Council helps shape policies on transportation, housing, sustainability, and economic development across Southern California.

As the sole candidate filing for the seat, SCAG bylaws automatically confirm Mayor Cabrera as the District Representative. He succeeds City of Perris Council Member Marisela Nava in the role.
