MORENO VALLEY-- At its annual reorganization meeting, Tuesday, Dec. 12, the Moreno Valley Unified School District School Board chose Susan Smith to serve as its president for the next 12 months. She assumed the Board presidency immediately.
The Board selected Jesús M. Holguín to serve as vice president; Cleveland Johnson, most recently the president, will continue officer duties as Board clerk.
“I am deeply honored to be chosen by my colleagues to lead the Board of this great school district,” Susan Smith said. “I am proud that we are providing the students of Moreno Valley the best education and even more proud of our excellent teachers, classified staff and district leadership team who work tirelessly to continue our upward success as we prepare our students for college or a viable career path.”
Susan Smith finished her first year on the School Board having been elected in 2016. Jesús M. Holguin has served on the MVUSD Board since 2002 and Cleveland Johnson since 2010.
